Falling In Love With Fall.

Fall is love, and my all time favorite time of year.

It’s not too cold and not too hot all at the same time, my perfect weather ranging in the 60’s-70’s. It sounds really weird but I love the smell, not really the pumpkin smell (though I do love that), but the smell of brisk weather without your nose feeling like an ice cube. Kind of like how Lorlei Gilmore from Gilmore Girls could smell that snow is coming to Stars Hallow. That’s me.

When you see the leaves of a beautiful oak tree change colors within days, then before Winter comes you walk around outside, and crunch on the softly fallen leaves on the ground.

And then watching slightly scary movies and shows on TV. And the only time I would go to Disney Channel is to watch the HalloweenTown Series, and Hocus Pocus, then watch the classics like The Munsters, and The Adams Family, that make Fall and Halloween even more fun and make me feel slightly more like a kid again.

Getting out all the warm blankets, clothes, and scarfs (for another 6-8 months) out of the back of the closets that were way too hot for the summertime. Enjoying a nice warm hot chocolate, and fuzzy blanket in or outside. Lovely crackling fire outside in a fire pit or a fire inside next to the fireplace.

Who can forget Halloween, when you could dress up as anything for one night, despite your age. Whether you are a kid, you could ask for free candy, from everyone, and it being completely okay. Or if you are a teenager or adult and go to Costume Parties, or go trick or treating with your young siblings or kids, or trick and treating kids at your door. I think my family tried carving pumpkins a number of times, but they didn’t really like it, but later I would love to do it. Silhouettes are my favorite and putting it on a pumpkin sounds so fun.

And Lastly Thanksgiving, You get to stuff your face with your own mountain of food and desserts, of turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, pies, yum! You’re either watching Football, or Cooking, or even both! Eat with the family, and/or friends sharing stories and journey of the past couple of days. Then you maybe needing to change into something more comfortable. Accidentally falling asleep minutes or hours later, then you might be one who loves sales and marked down prices, so you get to Black Friday Shopping!

Its a beautiful scenery season filled with fun, and childish memories and eating candy and food galore! I think I will always be in love with Fall, despite the fact my birthday is in Spring, or the Christmas season.

What’s your favorite thing to do in the Fall?

Your Enchanted Forest.

The Enchanted Forest is referred in a number of books, fairy tales, stories such as Alice in Wonderland, Snow White, Beauty & The Beast etc. Where characters get lost, where they see and find interesting things they cant just let go of, cant look away and  be unseen. To me, my thoughts of The Enchanted Forest is everything and anything, filled with magic, filled with all our happiness’s, small and big happiness’s, all the the things we get lost in and don’t realize it till hours later when we have responsibilities. We all have different Forests depending of which you are fond of, which you would get lost. Also with nothing at all stress related, nothing to bring you sadness. No violence of course. Yours could have as many things, people, anything. The list is endless. My Enchanted Forest is filled with my family, friends, movies, Netflix, Chocolate, The Civil Wars (Music), More Music, Baking, Books, and Cats with self cleaning cat liters.

In my poem *Pain Killers. I mentioned The Enchanted Forest.

“This kind of pain that feels like you are falling,

Deeper and deeper into an endless hole in

The Enchanted Forest where no one can find you.”

With any Mental Illnesses especially Depression. Seems like we are falling in a hole of our Enchanted Forest. Out of our magic and happiness’s. Out of the things that make life worth living. That’s when we are falling deeper and deeper, you feel so helpless, and hopeless. I think of the hole in which Alice fell in, but this is a black hole, feeling endless, and our happiness’s are getting farther from our reach.

I hate to break it to you but we all fall through that hole in our enchanted forests at least once minimum in life, and you’re not the only one, as much as i want to say life is great and amazing all the time. Its not, Its life. Its the heartbreaking truth. it really does break your heart, many times especially, when you least expect.

I believe If you are at all feeling too close to the edge of your black hole, spend at least 30 min to 2 hour a day or every couple of days in your forest till you feel furthur from your sneaky moving hole. To me if you dont the hole will seem to get bigger like a black hole and it will feel like you are losing an endless battle! I understand there are unexpected everything as if your car breaks down, you lose money, anything, that’s as if the hole is moving, and that’s okay! Responsibilities and Priorities are incredibly important, but you still do need to make time for you! Try to go deeper into your forest. it wont be easy, almost nothing in life is, but if you have an outlet, you have to charge on and fight.

I love all animals and pets, if you have any play with them, they need it as much as you do, there are also *studies that pets can help your depression. Sadness doesn’t last forever, like it may seem. the worst you can do is sit down and do absolutely nothing, for me that makes it worse. its sad to say but i try to ignore any part of my sadness and keep busy, and it does help, i cant just sit down and watch tv and do absolutely nothing. And at some point if you spend to much time in your forest, when you overdue it. You may encounter that hole again, and that’s when you need to get back to your priorities! So get lost in your custom made enchanted forest. Not too lost. You will not lose this battle!

Romeo and Juliet, Was it worth it?

Romeo and Juliet, considered the greatest love of all.

I believe in love at first sight, somewhat. But oh dear, Romeo was confessing love for another lady who he barely knew as well, then a couple of hours later stumbling into Juliet and falling in love.
They fell in love, had sex, Romeo and Juliet eloping with God, their crossing stars, and Nurse as their witnesses, families literally killing each other because their “forbidden love” Then killing themselves the next day. Really?

Shakespeare was brilliant don’t get me wrong with Macbeth, Julies Ceaser, and many more.

I  definitely believe society has changed the meaning of love, and today there are not really two specific families (other than religions, races, gangs) at war today (that i know of). I’m sure Romeo and Juliet was brilliant hundreds of years ago, when people discovered it, and when no one really knew what love was. The only reasons I think that love was love is way back then in 1597 (when written), when people almost always had arranged marriages for money/animals/property, when the last infamous marriages was from the also selfish, Henry VIII who killed his wives because they couldn’t bare him sons, when girls got married a couple of years after they entered the double digit ages (10-99). But is it still brilliant today? Should it still be taught in schools? Should it still be considered the greatest love of all?

Oh I promise. I believe in love. I believe in marriage and happiness. I believe in Hazel Grace & Augustus, Baby & Johnny (Dirty Dancing), and Carl & Ellie. I believe in what loneliness could do to you, with the poor sad Creature from Frankenstein. He definitely shouldn’t have killed all the innocent loved ones of Victor Frankenstein but he only wanted love and to be loved by absolutely anyone, especially his selfish dad and creator, Mr. Frankenstein just because he was very big, yellowish hue, and many scars, no one at all accepted him, no one gave him one single chance. That is scary but he also saved a little girl from drowning, and once seen by her father, he tries to kill him. That is no reason to kill though. (If you also want my thoughts of The Creature and Frankenstein, let me know, I would love to interpret one of my favorite books)

Anyway!

I just don’t believe in Romeo and Juliet’s love. Did they know each others flaws, other than their physical flaws. Did they know each others tiny little quirks? Did they even have at least a couple of common interests? Everything was recorded, but not those things. I mean they didn’t even know each others names. And they were both so incredibly selfish. I mean deaths within their families, and it seemed like they didn’t care like I would have. And sad families at the end because their own deaths they those to take for each other, yet 4 days ago they didn’t know they existed, I find it cowardly! I know what love can do to you, forget whats happening around you, make you feel butterflies 24/7 but do you really have no sense of life?

  • they barely knew each other.
  • falling in love within hours,
  • eloping less than 24 hours
  • 2 family members dying (Tybalt & Mercutio)
  • killing themselves.

All for their one night stand love,

their “star crossed love”

all while Juliet’s dad was planning her wedding to Paris (which she knew about)

time span: 4 days.

I just don’t think that love still deserves to be worshiped,  there are plenty of other love stories to be fond of. And yet today, brilliant directors with amazing actors and producers are still making Romeo & Juliet movies such as 1. Franco Zeffierelli’s (1968) 2. Baz Luhrmann’s (1996) 3. Carlo Carlei’s (2013) versions and many other peoples adaptations like West Side Story, and a family friendly version Gnomeo & Juliet. Trying to outdo the last with new technology, graphics and resources. With the same Shakespeare dialogues and language, The same endings. The same people, places. Thank you for spending more money just to outdo each other, with a storyline everyone knows.

I’m not sorry if I hurt anyone’s feelings telling you that today, in this century, that Romeo and Juliet’s love is not love. It probably was when it was created in the late 1500’s and up to late 1800’s maybe. but we are living in the 21st century. If you want forbidden love try: Dirty Dancing or The Notebook. Drama love: The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald or Love Story by Erich Segal, Death love: most things created Nicholas Sparks. Filled with character that got to know each other, who have histories, who have known each other more than a couple of months before calling it love.

There is a reason why people today take so long to say i love you for the first time, they wait weeks even months. And yet Romeo & Juliet said it within hours

My opinions

  1. Was it love? Way back then, yes/maybe: Today, no
  2. Does it still deserve to be worshiped today? No
  3. Greatest love of all? No
  4. Taught in schools? Not Really, Great dialogue and language but pick another William Shakespeare playwright
  5. More Movies? Please No

But, if you have any other thoughts to tell me how their love was real, how it deserves to be worshiped today, if you have any pros versus my con’s.
If you have anything to change my mind please, please tell me below and I will consider. I do understand how it was amazing for its day, but not today!

* Supposedly “The Tragical History of Romeus and Juliet” (1562) by Arthur Brooke, inspired Mr William Shakespeare to create the famous Romeo & Juliet. I feel bad for Arthur Brooke he barley got recognition for his original love story that inspired Shakespeare.

My ultimate love story, that i will always fall in love with, and known since I was around 10 years old

Moulin Rouge

(2001) Director: Baz Luhrmann Actors: Nicole Kidman, Ewan McGregor

Brilliant forbidden love story, in Paris 1900’s with death, so much tears and laughter, incredible music,
